Miss Amelia is originally from San Diego, California but being part of a military took her around the world and the country before settling in Pensacola. Miss Amelia’s father played trumpet in high school and during his military career in the Navy. This inspired Amelia to want to learn an instrument! She began playing viola in the 5th grade and was only one of two viola students at the time. She continued to play viola in her school and county ensembles until she graduated high school in 2010, where she then pursued a degree in Music Performance at the University of West Florida.
While studying for her degree, she began teaching violin students and eventually took on viola and cello students, which are truly a treat for her. After graduating from UWF, Amelia continued teaching students part time, while working full time office jobs. She is excited to be teaching full time with Minds on Music beginning in the Fall of 2020.
Miss Amelia’s favorite part about MOM is the infectious musical energy and passion all of the teachers and students exude. She is excited to be a part of this inspiring family! When not playing viola or teaching, Amelia can be found at home playing a video game or playing with her Tabby cat, Minerva.
