Private Instruction with Lab
Learning to play a musical instrument is a rewarding adventure. But like any good adventure, it takes dedication, focus and time. It also takes a good guide, one with patience, an encouraging spirit and the knowledge and tools to make the journey achievable. Having been on the journey ourselves, we feel qualified to help with the process.
Minds On Music has implemented a split lesson plan that will accelerated and clarify the process of learning music. When you break it down, there are really three major things to learn when you start playing music. One is learning to read and understand music's written language. The second is learning the musical instrument: it's layout and pitch producing elements. The third is employing proper technique to effectively grow in musical ability.
Learning to read music and learning the layout of an instrument can be greatly aided by a computer lab and MIDI instruments. The private lesson is then much more effective because the lab work can be immediately applied to the private instruction. We structure each 1 hour lesson to have a lab and a correlated lesson. In this way, the quality and efficiency of the lesson is maximized.
