Enrollment & Scheduling
Your enrollment at Minds On Music® secures your spot on our schedule and includes all membership benefits.
Once your spot on our schedule is secured, we cannot guarantee the ability to change your scheduled time at any point throughout the year.
We offer lessons starting as early as 10am and teach until 7pm most nights.
Our school calendar will run from August 3, 2026 to July 31, 2027.
We continue to follow the Santa Rosa County school calendar, with the exception of single day holidays and teacher work days.
Summer Semester
Your enrollment at Minds On Music® secures your spot on our schedule for the upcoming fall semester.
Taking a break during the summer may result in you losing your preferred time, teacher or even your spot in the studio.
SUFS/PEP Students
We love serving as a Direct Pay provider for Step Up For Students (SUFS/PEP) scholarships! To maintain this seamless payment method, please note our updated policy:
Billing Protocol: All scholarship billing is processed via the EMA platform immediately following the final lesson of your reserved pay period.
Deadline: Every SUFS/PEP family must reserve their funds before the 5th of the month (e.g., August funds must be reserved before September 5th). If funds are not reserved by this deadline, tuition will be billed directly to your primary account on file.
*Please note: SUFS/PEP Direct Pay students default to the Month-to-Month membership rate.
Missed Lessons & Makeup Offerings
Your spot on our schedule is reserved for you upon tuition payment.
We do not offer reimbursement for missed lessons, however, we do offer a makeup option.
Video Submission Lesson™ is the only form of makeup option at Minds On Music® and is one of the many benefits of your membership. We will not reschedule a lesson at another time or day in the week.
Video Submission Lesson™ will include a request of videos for student to record (scales/warm-ups, songs), as well as a MusicIQ® Assignment for the week. Complete the assignment before your next lesson, and your teacher will send you some feedback on what to be practicing before your next lesson.
No show lessons are forfeited and do not entitle you to the makeup option. Repeat no-shows will result in removal from the schedule without tuition reimbursement.
If you’re mildly sick or just can’t make it to the studio for your lesson, let us know by 12:00pm the day of your lesson, and we can set up a virtual lesson for you via FaceTime or Zoom at your regularly scheduled lesson time.
If you’re sick (to the point of being unable to have even a virtual lesson) or out of town, use the Student Portal to notify ahead of time and we will send a Video Submission Assignment™ for you to complete in your own time.
PLEASE WATCH VIDEO BELOW TO LEARN HOW TO DO A VIDEO SUBMISSION LESSON.
Sick Policy & Cleaning Procedures
In consideration for our teachers’ health and for other students’ health, students who are ill should not attend lessons. We reserve the right to send a student home if they are exhibiting symptoms of a contagious illness (fever, cough, vomiting, etc.).
Upon arrival at the studio, each student is asked to wash their hands, and hand sanitizer is provided in each studio.
Our whole studio is cleaned professionally weekly, and our teachers clean and disinfect their individual studios daily, as well as between each student.
Teacher & Weather Cancellation
If a lesson is cancelled due to teacher illness or family emergency, every option will be exhausted to find a substitute teacher for your lesson. If a sub is not available, you will be notified by 12:00pm the day of your lesson that your lesson is cancelled, and you’ll be entitled to the makeup option or refund.
In the event of severe weather, Virtual Lessons or Video Submission lessons will be offered during normal lesson times.
All communication about studio-wide lesson changes will occur via email, My Music Staff Portal, text, and in the Minds On Music Facebook Community group.
Leaving the Studio
For our month to month students, we require a 2-month minimum enrollment in lessons and a 3-week minimum notice for leaving the studio. This will allow us to wrap up any current projects or goals with the student, as well as fill your spot on our schedule.
If you enrolled in our yearly membership, we require a 12 month commitment. You will be billed for 12 months. Your yearly membership will be complete July 31, 2027.
If you are at all unsatisfied with your lessons, please contact us and we will do our best to find a resolution.
Mutual respect between families and Minds On Music® staff is a key goal at our studio. We reserve the right to remove a student from the studio if they have poor attendance, poor practice habits or repeatedly break other studio policies.
Parental Support
A weekly activity or a lifetime skill? YOUR support is the key to success.
Students whose parents take an active role in their progress tend to be more enthusiastic and productive. Ways to contribute to their success:
Provide a quiet space where the student can play.
Encourage regularly scheduled play time on their instrument each day.
Our suggested minimum playing time is 4 times per week, for the duration of twice the student's age (eg. if the student is 6 years old, they should play for 12 minute sessions, 4 times per week at a minimum).
An easy, practical way to be involved in your student’s success in their music lessons is to check your My Music Staff Parent Portal and the Facebook group every few days and allow your student to have access to their Student Portal daily to log their practice, check up on studio news, and be able to communicate with their teacher (under your supervision).
Your support is the difference between a student participating in a once-a-week activity and learning a skill that will last a lifetime!
